Cleaning up after lord Ganesh

Students from the city set an example by clearing visarjan waste from the city’s beaches & lakes.

Approximately 300 students from the Chandraban College, Powai, spent Sunday morning cleaning the ghats near Powai Lake, post Ganpati visarjans on Saturday. They segregated around 40 bags of biodegradable waste comprising garlands & coconut shells.

Also a number of college & school students from across the city voluntarily helped the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials to clean the garbage on Sunday morning.
JUHU BEACH.
Almost 200 students from the Rotract Club of Narsee Monjee College, Vile Parle, conducted a clean-up drive at the Juhu Beach.
The students collected more than 250 kg of garbage during the clean-up drive that lasted for almost 4 hours.

The students chose the day after the final Ganpati immersion to go about the drive since the beaches are in a highly disorderly state at this time.

“The garlands were like a carpet on the beach. Though we managed to clear up only a small section of the garbage, it was satisfying to see other voluntary groups continuing the work,” said one of the volunteer

Also celebs like Nargis Fakhri joined the social cause.                                                                        ---->>
